All sorts of boats pulled our guys off the beaches

Boats were taken without the owners permission and collected in the upper Thames until the time was right to take them across to collect and ferry soilders back onto the awaiting battleships and cruisers. The Valliant little boats with their navy crews did a great job. One houseboat owner had gone out to get some shopping with the meagre amount of "Coupons" only to find that her home had gone along with her pet cat whilst she was away. on the decks of the boat you can see some of the very same men that were ferried off the beaches.
